Louanna "Jeanie" Pina, 69, of New Bedford died December 5, 2009 at home after a brief illness.
Born April 13, 1940 in Virginia to Florence and Jess Williard Williams, she was raised in New York and spent several years in California before retiring to New Bedford.
Jeanie received her Master's Degree from Cambridge in Human Services and dedicated her life to serving others. She enjoyed helping people and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She loved to travel and meet new people. She was the Executive Director of the YWCA and facilitated Life Skills programs to woman in rehabilitation centers.
She will be missed. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and entertain. She enjoyed movies, eating good food and was a gentle soul. She was kind, loving and generous. She loved her tv and reclining chair and her favorite song was "Don't Worry Be Happy"
Survived by her parents Florence and Calvin Green; children, Jamie Lopez and Johnna Lopez; sister, Mimi Williams; grandchildren, Marissa and Jaren Lopez; cousins, Yvonne Davis and Clayton Davis, Jr. and several cousins and family friends.
Her Funeral Services were private.
