Luz M. Mejias, 65, of East Wareham died Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at home surrounded by her family after a period of declining health.

Born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Jose Antonio Mejias and Carmen (Cartagena) Mejias, she had lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Wareham.

Luz loved gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Dalia Mejias; three sons, David Mejias and his wife Melissa, Daniel Mejias, and Anthony Rios; three brothers; nine grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

She was the sister of the late William Mejias.

Her burial will be held on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at 10 AM in Rural Cemetery, 149 Dartmouth St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
