Madeline J. (Lequin) Pelletier, 85, of New Bedford died Friday July 11, 2003 at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late George E. Pelletier.

Born in Farnum, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Ovila and Corrine (Bissaillon) Lequin, she was raised in Fairhaven and lived in New Bedford most of her life.

She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

Mrs. Pelletier was formerly employed as a stitcher at Cape Cod Sportswear until her retirement.

Survivors include a son, Charles G. Pelletier of Dartmouth; 3 daughters, Rita Pelletier and Corrine Caouette, both of New Bedford, and Yvette Rosa of California; a sister, Rita Costa of Fairhaven; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday July 14, 2003 at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday July 13, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
