Malvina M. (Perry) Metivier, 79 of New Bedford died March 24, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Leo M. Metivier and daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Ducharme) Perry.

Mrs. Metivier was born in Scituate, RI and lived in Acushnet and New Bedford most of her life.

She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.

Mrs. Metivier was a member of the Sunshine Club at Bayberry Housing. She enjoyed her home, gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include 2 sons, Leo M. Metivier, Jr. of North Dartmouth and Richard A. Metivier of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Irene T. Ricardo and Muriel M. Metivier, both of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Her private Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, March 26th followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
