Manuel Ortega, 89, of New Bedford died Tuesday June 10, 2008 at Hallmark Nursing Home after a brief illness.He was the husband of the late Lydia Talavera Galarza.

Born in Moca, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Hermanaciado and Sixta (Nunez) Ortega, he lived in New Bedford for the past 20 years.

He is survived by four children, Manuel Ortega, Rafael "Eddy" Ortega, Angel Luis Ortega, and Mildred Ortega Tesh, and many other loved ones.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
