Obituary

Manuel R. Perry, 78, of Rochester died Monday May 23, 2005 unexpectedly at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was the husband of Carol H. (Houston) Perry.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel and Bertha (Walker) Perry, he had lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Rochester 33 years ago.

Mr. Perry was formerly employed as an electrical engineer for Commonwealth Electric Company until his retirement.

Mr. Perry served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was an avid sports fan and newspaper reader.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janice Spark, and her husband William, of Mattapoisett, and Linda Turnbull, and her husband Porter, of Hawaii; three gandsons, Seth Spark, Kyle Spark and Perry Turnbull; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Spark and Jacob Spark.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, May 30, 2005, from 1-4 PM at the Perry family residence, 80 Snow's Pond Rd., Rochester. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
