Obituary

Marcia M. (Ramos) Williams, aged 66, of New Bedford, MA passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 after a 7 month long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Marcia fought hard but the cancer was too aggressive.

Marcia was born on August 15, 1958 In New Bedford, MA to her late parents, Manuel A. Ramos and Sabina (Gomes) Ramos. She was the sister of the late Richard "Ricky" Ramos.

Marcia was a graduate of the New Bedford School System. She received her Bachelor's degree from Boston University and her Master's degree in Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University. She worked for 33 years before her retirement for Bank of America where she held many positions.

Marcia leaves her beloved husband of 15 years Leonard "Lenny" Williams, her stepson Mitchell Williams, 4 brothers-in-law, Tony, Elton, Andre (Sati) and Tyrone as well as her precious puppy, Ruby Dee.

She leaves her best friends who were her sisters: Robyn J. Nelson, her friend for 60+ years; Kathleen Davis, her friend since high school and mother of her godchild/nephew, LJ Jones, niece Chelsea Unis (Jimmy), nephews Colby Davis ( Parielle) and Marshall Davis (Noely) and Debra Ramos, a dear friend since grammar school. Marcia had many other sister friends who were there for her during her life and during her illness.

She also leaves numerous cousins and other family. She leaves the great friends she made during her career at Bank of America especially, Charlotte Baker, Darlene Reza-Rossi and Pamela Mahoney.

Marcia's family would like to thank her oncologists, Dr Luskin of Dana Farber, Dr Pathak and the staff at South Coast Cancer Center, and Community Visiting Nurses.

Marcia wants to be remembered for how hard she loved the people in her life and the joy she experienced living her life.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 15th at 10 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Church all are invited to meet directly at church. Following the Mass there will be a Celebration of Life at the Century House, 107 South Main St, Acushnet, MA where everyone is invited to eat, drink and be merry.
