Maria A. (Dinis) Bates, of Acushnet, passed away on May 19, 2024 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. She was the wife of the late Allan S. Bates. Born in Acushnet, she was the daughter of the late Ramiro and Ana Dinis.

Survivors include a son, Robert A. Bates of Fairhaven; a daughter, Lori Bates of Acushnet; four grandchilden, Suzanne Beauchemin and her husband Michael, Aaron Bates and his wife Lindsay, Jessica Dzwilewski and her partner Helder, and Tyler Bates and his wife Jennifer; eight great-grandchilden, Gage, Aven, Brody, Mia, Cameron, Ivy, Noah and Bowen and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law Sharon Bates and great-grandson Connor Bates.
