Maria F. Depina, 62, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Born in Dakar, Senegal, daughter of the late Hildho Tavares and Eugenia (Depina) Soares, she resided in New Bedford the majority of her life.

Maria was an artist and enjoyed working as a seamstress and being creative. She loved to cook, listen to music, dance and enjoyed being with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Tiffanie Depina, Lisa Depina, Jaslyn Depina, Anna Depina, and Yvonne Albuquerque; her siblings, Manny Ramos, Ana Lague, Daniel Tavares, David Tavares, Rui Tavares, Antonio Tavares, Isaura Tavares, Maria Tavares, Isabel Tavares, and Ernestina Tavares.

She is predeceased by her siblings Yvonne Depina, and Joseph Depina

Her visiting hours will be held Sunday, March 22 from 2-6 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals 495 Park St., New Bedford.
