Maria J. Andrade

Maria J. Andrade, 64, of East Wareham, died on February 24, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of David Acevedo.

Born in Riobamba, Ecuador, she was the daughter of Anna Zuñiga Bales of Jersey City, NJ, and the late Washington Andrade. She lived in Jersey City, NJ, for 30 years before moving to Lakeville, New Bedford, and East Wareham.

She was formerly employed in the pharmaceutical industry for many years until her retirement. Maria found great joy in serving the homeless at St. Paul's Church in New Bedford, a cause close to her heart. She had a special love for animals and cared deeply for them throughout her life.

Survivors include her husband, David; a son, Christian Araujo of Hato Rey, Puerto Rico; a grandson, Logan X. Araujo; her mother, Anna; a brother, Diego Andrade of Jersey City, NJ; and a niece and several nephews. She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by many family members and friends in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico.

She was the sister of the late Washington Andrade.

Her funeral service will be private.
