Maria A. (Soares) Logan, 69, of New Bedford died September 11, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late John P. and Mary R. (Xavier) Soares, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, shopping, fashion and dancing.

Survivors include her son, Jared Logan of Mt. Vernon, NY; a daughter, Maria Theresa Samuel and her husband Joshua of New Bedford; a brother, John Soares of Falmouth; 3 sisters, Roberta Hall of Virginia Beach, Rofina Morgan and her husband Francis of Worcester and Theresa Soares of New Bedford; close friend and social worker, Jennifer Pestana; 11 nieces and nephews, Mia Carreiro, Lachelle Ward, Shawnell Bly, Kwame Morgan, Neka Middleton, Andrew Morgan, Collis Soares, Xavier Oliver, Paige Oliver, Taylor Oliver and Frank Oliver; and her great-nieces and great-nephews; Amaya Bly, Taliyah Ollivierre, Taelynn Ollivierre, Theresa Ollivierre, Jayceon Strait, Malaya Strait, Isley Soares, Preston Soares, Quincy Middleton, Leila Carreiro, Jami Carreiro.

She was the sister of the late Emilia Soares, sister-in-law of the late Josephine Soares and Milton Hall.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 21th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be on Friday, September 20th from 4-7 PM.
