Marie E. (Ferreira) Lopes, 51, died February 29, 2008 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of Edward Silva of Dartmouth and the late Geneva M. (Gamboa) Silva, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was an active member of Haven Baptist Church.
Survivors include 2 sons, David Gomes and Joshua Gomes, both of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Doria Whetstone and Brandi Gomes, both of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Antone Ferreira of New Jersey and Francis Martin of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Antonette Garcia and Cora Martin, both of New Bedford; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th at 9 AM in the Haven Baptist Church, 519 County St. New Bedford. Burial will follow St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, March 3rd from 6-9 PM in the church.
