Marie V. (Carreira) Goss, 85, of New Bedford died Sunday August 2, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Fred Goss.

Born in Oak Bluffs, the daughter of the late John F. and Augustina (Aguiar) Carreira, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn S. Goss of New Bedford.

She was the mother of the late Michael J. Goss.

Funeral services are private. Visiting hours are omitted. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
