Mark Sylvia, 50, of Lakeville, formerly of New Bedford, died Friday June 26, 2009 at home.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Casmiro E. and Priscilla (Teves) Sylvia, he lived in New Bedford and Acushnet all of his life before moving to Lakeville in two years ago.

Mark was formerly employed as a janitor at St. Vincent's Home in Fall River for many years until his retirement.

Survivors include his longtime girlfriend, Lori A. Leandre of Lakeville; a daughter, Sonya Lynn Sylvia of New Bedford; a brother, Bruce Sylvia of New Bedford; and several aunts and uncles.

His Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 12 Noon in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Visitation will be Tuesday 11AM-12 Noon prior to the service. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
