Mary E. (McLaughlin) Donnelly of New Bedford, Massachusetts passed away at the age of 67 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Convoy, Co. Donegal, Ireland, the daughter of the late Seamus and Margaret McLaughlin, she lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for the past 37 years.
Mary attended St Bridget's School in Convoy and then attended Raphoe Vocational School. After graduation she was accepted to a nursing school in Scotland. She then returned to practice in Letterkenny General Hospital and later worked as a nurse at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry City, Ireland. She finished her long nursing career at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.
Mary loved meeting people while walking around Buttonwood Park and while out and about as well. She enjoyed watching The Voice on television every Monday and Wednesday night.
She is predeceased by her son Christopher P. Donnelly and her parents Seamus and Margaret McLaughlin. She is survived by her daughter, Roisin M. Donnelly; her granddaughter, Raelynne Rose Donnelly; her siblings, Bernadette McLaughlin, Charlie McLaughlin and his wife Laura, Pat McLaughlin and his wife Pauline, and Seamus McLaughlin and his wife Kitty; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Mary's wishes, there will be no public services at this time. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
