Mary Ann Lomba, 83, of Dorchester, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late Antonio Joaquim Lomba and Isabella Victorina (Pina) Lomba she lived in Boston most of her life.
Mary Ann was an active member of her local community. She was a past president of the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers, Executive Director of CVC Unido, now Cape Verdean Association of Boston, Lector at St. Gregory Parish in Dorchester, and active in her Ashmont Community. Mary Ann was a great cook and the center of her extended family. Everyone would gather at her house and would look forward to her annual Mardi Gras party.
Mary Ann graduated from UMass Dartmouth and received her MBA from Northeastern University. She worked at Digital Computers for many years as a financial analyst.
Survivors include her sister, Naomi J. Gomes; her niece, Adrianna Gomes; her nephews, Jerome Lomba Jr. and Nicholas Lomba; her sister-in-law Grace Lomba; her great-nieces Noelle and Joia; great-nephew Jacob; and a number of God Children.
She is predeceased by her brother Jerome Lomba Sr.; and her brother-in-law Manuel S. Gomes.
Her visitation will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dywer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 9th at 10 AM in St. Gregory Parish, 2223 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester, MA 02124. All are invited to meet directly at Church. Burial will be private.
