Mary (Lopes) Peters, 91, of New Bedford died November 1, 2010 at home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of William F. Peters with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Frates) Lopes, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Peters enjoyed watching soap operas, knitting, crocheting, eating out, spending time with her family and ice cream sundaes on Sunday.
Survivors include her husband; 2 daughters, Nancy Vieira of New Bedford and Jane Ann Miller of Acushnet; 2 grandchildren, Wendy Nault and Tracy Atwood, both of Wareham; 6 great-grandchildren, Meghan Nault, Nicole Nault, Ashley Atwood, Abigail Atwood, Tyler Atwood and Allyson Atwood; family friends, Cheryl Burtch and Charles DelSordo.
Visiting hours Wednesday, November 3rd from 4-8 PM followed by her Funeral Service at 8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
