Obituary

Mary J. (Fernandes) Picinisco, 80, of Dartmouth died February 15, 2006 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Bernard J. Picinisco.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Antonio B. and Maria Jose (Andrade) Fernandes, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Dartmouth in 1990.

She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church in North Dartmouth.

Mrs. Picinisco was formerly employed at Acushnet Company and Aerovox many years ago.

She was a former member of the Womens Bowling Association and Classic League at Wonderbowl and Fairhaven Bowlers Country Club.

Survivors include a son, Bernard E. Picinisco, and his wife Vivian, of Dartmouth; three sisters, Alda Wolff, and her husband James, of San Bruno, Calif., and Lucy Rodrigues, and her husband Joseph, and Annie Fernandes, all of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Jesse Lynn Grieve and Bryan Michael Picinisco; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the grandmother of the late Danielle Leigh Picinisco and sister of the late Salvador B. Fernandes and Ralph B. Fernandes.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday February 18, 2006 at 10 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 11 AM. Visiting hours will be on Friday February 17, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
