Mary A. (Rose) Pina, 85, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Antone T. Pina.

Born in Marion, the daughter of the late Antone Rose and Candida (Duarte) Rose Nascimento, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.

Mrs. Pina was formerly employed as a quality control technician at Cornell-Dubilier Electronics until her retirement in 1997 after 41 years of service.

She was a devoted mother and homemaker who cared for her handicapped granddaughter. She enjoyed traveling and gardening.

Survivors include her beloved children, Jaymie A. Monteiro-Barrows and Susan L. Fernandes, both of New Bedford, Jeanna M. Antunes of Texas, Carlton E. Pina and Ronald C. Pina, both of Dartmouth; her siblings, Elizabeth Amado of Wareham, Toni Alexander of Willingsboro, NJ, and Manuel D. Nascimento of California; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Toni S. DeBarros, and sister of the late Arthur D. Rose, Walter D. Rose, Joseph D. Rose, and Jeannie Harrison.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday April 30, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
