Mary M. (McQuade) Pinto, 91, of Dartmouth died Saturday September 10, 2005 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility. She was the wife of the late Antone Pinto; they were married for 64 years.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Hart) McQuade, she lived in Dartmouth for most of her life.

She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.

Mrs. Pinto was formerly employed at the Pairpoint Glass Company, Venetian Blinds in New Bedford, and as a dietician in the cafeteria in the Dartmouth Public School System prior to her retirement.

Her most gratifying and precious moments were spending times with her family. She enjoyed holiday celebrations, cookouts, traveling, going out with her friend Rose Moniz, and watching her granddaughters play field hockey and softball.

She was a volunteer worker for the American Cancer Society and helped the needy through the Franciscan Missions. She devoted much of her time in helping her husband and the children of Dartmouth in forming the Dartmouth Youth Athletic Association which began over 50 years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Maureen A. Pinto-Dusoe of Dartmouth; a son, Anthony J. Pinto of Fairhaven; three grandchildren, Brooke Dusoe of Boston, Scott Pinto of Dartmouth, and Darrin Pinto and his wife Kristy of Acushnet; and three great-granddaughters, Erica, Brittiny, and Kaiden Pinto.

She was the sister of the late Martha Hanrahan of Dartmouth and Joseph McQuade of Washington, D.C.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday September 14, 2005 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday September 13, 2005 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
