Mary (Brazil) Pontes, 90, of New Bedford died Tuesday October 30, 2007 at St. Luke's Hosptial after a brief illness.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Antone and Maria (Sylvia) Brazil, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

Mrs. Pontes was formerly employed as a housekeeper at Sacred Heart Home.

Survivors include three children Ronald Francisco and Joyce Francisco, both of New Bedford and Jean Pacheco; two grandchildren, Pamela and Jason Francisco; two great-grandchildren, Tabatha Francisco and Matthew Witham; her cousin, Carmen Donaghy; and several nieces and nephews.

Her Memorial Service will be private. Visiting hours are omitted.
