Mary L. (Sokolis) Rock, 80, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Born in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Dobosz) Sokolis, she was raised in Rockville, CT before moving to the New Bedford area in 1962.

Mary was a lady with a lot of love. She brought much happiness and wisdom into our lives. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary enjoyed reading, word searches, tending to her plants, sewing, and crocheting. She was loved and will be missed dearly. Mary was employed by Eastern Sportswear for 22 years and HCC Aeigis of New Bedford.

Survivors include her children, Michael Rock, Brian Rock, and Kenneth Rock; her siblings, John Sokolis and Dorothy Sokolis; her grandchildren, Erika, Ryan, Shannon, Kylie and Kaitlyn; her great-grandchildren, Kiera, Brayden, Aniya, and Khloe; her sister, Dorothy Sokolis; her brother, John Sokolis; and many other relatives.

She is predeceased by her grandson, Joshua Rock; and her brother, Edward Sokolis.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, June 28th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday June 27th from 4-8 PM.
