Mary (Lawrence) Vera, 93, of New Bedford died Wednesday October 5, 2005 at New Bedford Health Care after a brief illness.

Born in Dartmouth, the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Homen) Lawrence, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

Mrs. Vera was formerly employed as a stitcher at Normandy Bedspread Company until her retirement.

She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School.

Survivors include a son, Lawrence C. Vera of Ft. Myers, FL; a daughter, Vivian Page of New Bedford; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Antonio Lawrence, Frank Lawrence, and Louis Lawrence.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday October 8, 2005 at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Church at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday October 7, 2005 from 7-9 PM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
