Obituary

May (Wong) Moy, 96, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was the wife of the late Philip T. Moy for 64 years.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Charlie and Jade (Woo) Wong, she lived in Fairhaven most of her life.

May was born into a family of restaurant owners and spent her whole life working at Charlie Wong's, Cathay Temple, and Davy's Locker. She enjoyed following the Red Sox, tending to her plants and spending time with her cats.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Jadine Loo-Dixon, Thomas Loo, Kathy Hurlburt, Laura Lanagan, Karen Smith, Evelyn Holt, Lisa Wong, Jade Wong, Dennis Wong, Jennifer Wong, Carolyn Sedille, and Shannon Wong; her sister-in-law Margaret Wong; many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Meline Loo, Sue van Wiggeren, Claudia Wong, Deborah Holt, Dennis Wong, Stephen Wong and Loy Wong.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff and care givers of Alden Court and Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association for their loving, kind, and professional care of May Moy during this challenging time. Private funeral services were held at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery.
