Michael C. Profita, 60, of New Bedford died May 9, 2011 at home after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Salvatore C. Profita and the late Estelle L. (Caron) Baker, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Profita was formerly employed by Berkshire-Hathaway, Stride Rite Shoes and Munroe Electric.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his step-father, Kimball Baker of Dartmouth; 2 brothers, Paul Profita of New Bedford and Robert Profita of Ft. Pierce, FL; 3 sisters, Denise Tripp of Delray, FL, Deborah Shumway of New Hampshire and Donna Szyndlar of New Bedford; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
His funeral arrangements will be private.
