Nancy M. (Regan) Farnworth, 84, of New Bedford passed away Thursday April 4, 2024 at Alden Court Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Karl J. Farnworth.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Leo V. and Mary E. (Grayless) Regan, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, Class of 1957 and St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1960.
Nancy was a registered nurse who worked in labor and delivery at St. Luke's Hospital for many years. She was a member of the St. Luke's Alumni Association.
Nancy cherished the times spent with her family and friends and enjoyed attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren throughout the years. A very social person, she always enjoyed going out to lunch with her friends and classmates and was never known to turn down an invitation to a party.
She is survived by her four children, Kari Rossi and her husband Thomas, Karl Farnworth and his partner Kim Heydt, Kristen Saunders and her husband John, and Kevin Farnworth and his fiancée Tracy Shelford; twelve grandchildren, Sarah Griffin and her husband Matthew, Maggie Frye and her husband Dalton, Brendan Rossi and his wife Erin, Kyle Farnworth and his partner Janaina DeSouza, Matthew Farnworth and his partner Ashley Hogan, Trent Farnworth, Courtney Steele and her husband Jeffrey, Andrew Saunders and his partner Melissa Gomes, Liam Saunders and his fiancée Elizabeth Rose, Aidan Farnworth and his partner Ashley Medeiros, Curran Farnworth and his partner Moriah Baptiste, and Jensen Farnworth; seven great-grandchildren, Ryder Griffin, Remington Frye, Quintin Frye, Leo Steele, Nash Steele, Chance Saunders, and Sloane Rossi who was born on the same day that Nancy passed; her cousin, Jane Rego; her lifelong friend since childhood, Janice Bessette; and a special family friend who was like her daughter, Patricia Ryan-Blanchard.
She was predeceased by her brother James Regan, and her aunt and uncle, Beatrice and Anthony Pimental.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday April 11th at 11 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday April 10th from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
