Nancy A. (Moore) Perry, 83, of Fairhaven passed away Monday July 13, 2026. She was the wife of the late William W. Perry.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Ralph and Miriam (Spagnoli) Moore, she grew up in Mattapoisett and moved to Fairhaven in the 1970s, where she made her home for the rest of her life
Nancy attended the New Bedford Textile Institute before beginning her career as a third-grade teacher at the Anthony School. She later taught at the Rogers School before becoming the elementary art teacher for the Fairhaven Public Schools. She worked in Fairhaven for over 36 years.
Active in community organizations, she belonged to the Fairhaven Historical Society, the Red Hat Society, and the First Congregational Church of Fairhaven, where she volunteered for many years at the annual Olde-Tyme Holiday Village. She was also a devoted member of the Colonial Club, serving as president for several years, helping lead the renovation of the clubhouse, and contributing to the organization's scholarship committee.
In her earlier years, she loved hosting garden parties, playing tennis, and spending summer vacations on Martha's Vineyard with friends. Later, she enjoyed basket weaving and feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her yard. She was a lifelong dog lover, and she shared her home with many dogs over the years.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Meg Perry; her grandchildren, Brody and Hadley Hunt; her brothers, Robert Moore and Paul Moore; and her sisters-in-law, Kathy Morgan and Sue Moore.
Her visitation will be held on Friday July 17th from 3-6 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett with a funeral service beginning at 5:30 PM. A private family burial will be held at Cushing Cemetery. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
