Olga Williams, a lifelong New Bedford resident whose tireless dedication to her family and community left an indelible mark on countless lives, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Wareham on March 23, 1932, Olga's journey was defined by a spirit of service, an unwavering resilience, and a love that was felt by all who knew her.
A true pillar of the community, Olga dedicated her entire career to serving others. She worked for the New Bedford Public Schools Food Service Department, tirelessly providing hot meals to students and ensuring that no child went hungry. As a familiar and comforting presence, she approached her work not just as a job but as a profound act of care. Her commitment to the well-being of the city's youth was a testament to her generous heart.
Olga's strength was perhaps most evident in her personal life. A devoted mother, she will join her sons in heaven, having outlived them with remarkable courage and grace. She channeled her grief into a deeper love for her family, her legacy will live on.
More than just a caregiver, Olga was a vibrant soul who found joy in the simple things: an evening with family, a shared laugh, bingo and the satisfaction of a day well spent in service to others. Her life was not without its challenges, but she met each one with a quiet determination and an unshakable faith. Her legacy is not just in the meals she served or the family she raised, but in the spirit she embodied and the profound love she so freely gave to us all.
