Pedro Garcia-Gonzalez, 98, of New Bedford, MA, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Pedro was born on February 14, 1926 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He was a loving and kind family man who loved God above all else. A devout Christian, he loved praising and worshiping God and spent a lot of his time composing music and singing to the Lord. He also loved preaching the Word of God to anyone who would listen. He was a member of Iglesia Pentecostal, Jesucristo, Rey de Gloria, located in the southend of New Bedford and had the privilege of being pastored by his own son, Luis Garcia. He was also known as the family chef and genuinely enjoyed cooking for and feeding his family.

Pedro was the loving husband of over 70 years to the late Inocencia Ferrer-Garcia. He was the loving father of 12 children, 11 of whom are still living. He was also the loving grandfather of 58 grandchildren, 135 great-grandchildren, and 79 great-great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, located at 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 10 AM prior to the funeral service.
