Peter John LeTendre, Jr., 54, of New Bedford died August 18, 2010 unexpectedly at Boston Medical Center.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Peter J. and Shirley J. (Nichols) LeTendre of New Bedford, he lived 10 years in Colorado and most of his life in New Bedford.
Peter was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
His greatest passion was helping the homeless.
Survivors include his parents; a daughter, McKenzie LeTendre of Arvada, CO; 5 sisters, Karen Sonne of Rochester, Kathy Perry of Assonet, Carole Kelley, Sharon Steliga and Lisa LeTendre, all of New Bedford; his former wife, Lynn Ann (Todd) Gerber of Colorado; his nieces and nephews, Aaron, Allyson, Ryan, Lucas, Meaghan, Jenna and Robyn.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 21st at 11 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Visiting hours Friday, August 20th from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Market Ministries, 60 Eighth St., New Bedford, MA 02740.
