Rene R. Lopez

Rene R. Lopez, 93, of New Bedford died July 3, 2026 at Hathaway Manor surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Eufemia (Pumarejo) Ramos.
Born and raised in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, son of the late Damian and Olegaria (Lopez) Ramos, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He was formerly employed by Swam Finishing in Swansea for 25 years until his retirement.
Rene was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and he enjoyed Western movies.
Survivors include his wife Eufemia; a daughter, Elba Martinez of New Bedford; 2 sons, Efrain Grajales of New Bedford and Ignacio Grajales and his wife Nellie of East Freetown; 2 brothers, Luis Ramos and Victor Ramos, both of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Elsie Perez and Aidalug Ramos, both of New Bedford; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late William Grajales, Carmelo Grajales and Manuel Grajales.
His visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 8th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 9th at 10 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
