Reynolds P. "Pat" Wright, 84 of New Bedford died August 25, 2019 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility.
He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Oliver) Wright.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Wilfred A. and Frances E. (Reynolds) Wright, he lived in New York most of his life before moving to New Bedford.
Mr. Wright was formerly employed as an analytical chemist at Belding Hemingway in Putnam, CT, and as a quality engineer at IBM in East Fishkill, NY for 26 years. Upon retirement, he was a substitute teacher for schools in the Fall River and New Bedford communities.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1952, and graduated from UMass-Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1963.
Mr. Wright served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft electrician during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; 2 step-sons, Aaron Williams of Rhode Island and Eric Williams of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Joan Criswell of Brooklyn, NY and Winifred Wright of New Bedford; a niece; 2 nephews; and many cousins.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 30th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. His family will receive visitors from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
