Richard J. Bourgeois, 75, of New Bedford, died Friday July 22, 2016 at Southeastern Mass Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Shirley A. (Silva) Bourgeois.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Normand and Dorothy (Chase) Bourgeois., he lived in Fairhaven for most of his life before moving back to New Bedford.
Mr. Bourgeois worked many odd jobs over the years, including painting vehicles for an auto body shop.
He loved country music, fishing and playing his harmonica.
Survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline Pinheiro and Michelle Westgate of New Bedford; two sons, Michael Bourgeois of Acushnet and Richard Bourgeois of Oklahoma; two sisters, Doris McClerg and Janice Bourgeois Ferreira; one brother, Raymond Bourgeois; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Roger Bourgeois, Ronald Bourgeois and Delores (Bourgeois) Richard.
His Funeral Service will be private.
