Richard F. Burdick, 59, of Dartmouth died Sunday January 5, 2014 at home after a long illness.

Born in Bennington, Vermont, the son of the late Janna K. (Paul) and Darius William Burdick, he lived in the Berkshires for many years. He had resided in the Wareham, New Bedford, and Dartmouth area since 1980.

Richard was formerly employed as a carpenter.

He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is surived by his children, Myles Anthony Jones, Damon Marc Jones, and Stacey Marie Jones Mendonca; a brother, Peter Burdick; a sister, Edith Gora; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Congregational Church of South Dartmouth, 17 Middle St., South Dartmouth. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
