Richard A. Prudhomme, 72, of New Bedford died June 29, 2017 at home after a brief illness surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Laura (Campos) Prudhomme.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Alfred and Betty (Wing) Prudhomme, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Prudhomme was formerly employed as director of plant operations at Southeastern Massachusetts Health & Rehabilitation Center for many years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a lover of animals and a New England Patriots fan.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Charles Lamb, Robert Lamb and his wife Cheryl and Richard Prudhomme and his companion Amy Butler, all of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Dolores Haith and her husband Bret of Acworth, GA, Linda Britto and her husband Kelvin of New Bedford and Laura Lee Raposo and her husband Jose of Acushnet; a sister, Linda Albino of Cranston, RI; 20 grandchildren, Bianca, Aubrie, Staisee and her husband Randy, Bret, Jr., Neenah and her husband Danny, Tyanna and her companion Manny, Tyrone, Shawn and his wife Nicole, Jose, Jr. and his wife Diane, Christopher and his companion Julie, Jamee and her husband Amos, Brandon and his companion Krystal, Blake, Mariah, Myles, Amanda, Cherie, Michelle and her companion Thomas Boudreau, Kyle and Kendra Prudhomme; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Charlotte Lamb and the grandfather of the late Stephen "Russell" Adams.
His visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 3rd from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
