Obituary

Richard W. Pryor, 94, of New Bedford died on September 28, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Joseph and Alice (Magnett) Pryor, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years and was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Vietnam Service medal.
He was a member of the Young Cape Verdean Athletic Association.
Survivors include his daughter, Brendolyn Muniz of Richmond, VA; 3 grandchildren, Brittina Muniz, Brianna Muniz and Brandie Muniz; 2 great-grandchildren, Bembe and Sonnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the companion of the late Helen Williams and brother of Alice Dossett, John Pryor, Joseph Pryor, Jr., Ruth Chastang, Florence Eubanks, Shirley Averille, Emma Pryor and Elizabeth Pryor.
His visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 4th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
