Richard R. Sylvia, 72, of Dartmouth died April 5, 2011 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Botelho) Sylvia.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Edmund and Olivia (Rodrigues) Sylvia, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life.
He was formerly employed by I.U.O.E. Local #4 for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include 2 sons, Jeffrey Sylvia and his wife Charlene and Kenneth Sylvia, all of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Jean Sylvia of Dartmouth and Lori Bollea of New Bedford; a brother, Manuel Sylvia of New Bedford; a sister, Noelma Conceicao of Florida; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
His visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 9th from 2-6 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 6 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
