Rita M. (Macedo) Pinto, 87, of New Bedford died April 11, 2015 at Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Aurileo M. "Leo" Pinto.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary (Correia) Macedo, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Pinto was formerly employed as a cafeteria worker with the New Bedford Public School System for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed camping.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael Pinto and his wife Maggie of East Freetown; a daughter, Nancy Houghton and her husband Wayne of West Wareham; 4 grandchildren, Tracy Mello, Derek DaCosta, Kurt Houghton and Felicia Pinto; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Earle Macedo, Gabriel Macedo, Richard Macedo and Kenneth Macedo.
