Robert S. Dexter, 85, of Mattapoisett died October 1, 2006 at home unexpectedly.
He was the husband of the late Irma (Hammond) Dexter.
Born in Mattapoisett, the son of the late John C. and Florence G. (Dexter) Dexter, he lived in Mattapoisett all of his life.
Mr. Dexter was formerly employed as a commercial painter.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Dexter was an avid bowler.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great -nieces and great-great-nephews and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Norman Dexter, Doris Ladner, Marjorie West, Clara Winters, Ellen Pratt, Alvin Dexter, Chester Dexter and James Dexter.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 7th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. Flowers acceptable or remembrances may be made to the Mattapoisett Historical Society, P.O. Box 535, Mattapoisett, MA 02739.
