Robert W. Durant, 64, of New Bedford died March 31, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in Acushnet, the loving son of Priscilla M. (Ratcliffe) Smith and the late Frank Durant, he had lived in Connecticut for 35 years before returning to New Bedford in 1996.

Mr. Durant was formerly employed at Acushnet Rubber Company.

He was a loving son who took very good care of his mother. He enjoyed playing Keno.

He is survived by his loving mother; nephew, Wayne Goyette; nieces, Sue Goyette and Cherie Breault; brother-in-law, Leo Goyette; his good friend, Marilyn Pritchard; and many friends.

He was the brother of the late Pauline Breault and June Goyette, stepson of the late Richard Smith, and companion of the late Catherine Weir.

His Memorial Service will be held on Sunday April 15, 2007 at 10 AM in the International Church of the Nazarene, 284 Pleasant St., New Bedford.
