Robert R. Monaghan, 73, of Fairhaven died December 1, 2011 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late James and Esther (Reid) Monaghan, he lived in Fairhaven most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his daughter, Jeannett Reed of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren, Jason Monaghan, Irene Harrop-Manley and Barbara Perez; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Donald Monaghan, James Monaghan and Shirley Gaudreau.
His funeral arrangements will be private.
