Robert R. Rutledge, 71, of Dartmouth died Monday, August 31, 2020 at home after a long illness. He was the husband of Barbara (Sher) Rutledge.

Born in Acushnet, son of the late Walter and Doris (Breton) Rutledge, he lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for most of his life.

Robert served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was formerly employed as a shipper and receiver at the Acushnet Company for 30 years.

Robert loved watching sports.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara and was pre-deceased by his brother, Walter Rutledge, Jr.

His Graveside Service will be held Monday, September 14, 2020 at 10 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
