Robert H. Turner, 68, of Plymouth died August 13, 2025 unexpectedly at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.
He was the husband of Theresa C. (Brace) Turner and the late Michelle M. (Spinola) Turner.
Born and raised in New Bedford, son of the late Herbert and Julia Mae (Gibau) Turner, he lived in Plymouth most of his life.
He was formerly employed as a correctional officer at MCI Walpole and MCI Norfork for 20 years until his retirement. He later became the Mayor of Cedarville when he became the manager of Cedarville Mobil gas station for over 30 years. A place where he made life long friends and a job he loved.
Bob enjoyed going to Manomet Beach and Chappy Beach, walking his dogs, playing the lottery, his family and watching sports.
Survivors include his wife Terri; 2 daughters, Sheri Smith and her husband Chad of Bourne and Jennifer Meeks and her husband Joe of Florida; a sister, Pamela Haywood and her husband Steven of Randolph; his aunt, Marie Barnes of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren, Jayla Meeks, Ava Meeks, Leah Meeks and Myles MacKay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 17th from 1-4 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org
