Obituary

Roland Euclide Blouin, 98 of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024. He was the husband of the late Leona Rose (Duchesneau) Blouin.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Davignon) Blouin, he lived in Fairhaven all of his life.

Roland served proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II, engaged in conflicts in the U.K., France, and Germany. Roland loved his country.

Roland worked in construction his whole life, starting as a boat builder before moving on to post and beam construction and then finish carpentry. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and enjoyed country music. He will be remembered as a true gentleman.

Roland was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Fairhaven, and the Knights of Columbus Damien Council 4190 in Mattapoisett.

Survivors include his children, Joe (Roland) Blouin, Jr. of Miami, Marc Blouin of Fairhaven, and Paul Blouin of New Bedford; his grandchildren, Lizabeth Blouin, Douglas Blouin, Abby Mitchell, and Robert (Roland) Blouin; and his great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Ayla, Isabelle and Eleanor.

Roland's visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2nd from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Mattapoisett. His Funeral Mass will be held in St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett, at 11 AM and burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
