Romeo Xon Mendez, 46, of New Bedford passed away Sunday February 2, 2025 at home after a long illness.

He was born in Zacualpa, Quiche, Guatemala and lived in New Bedford for the past 20 years

Romeo was formerly employed as a packer in the seafood processing industry.

He is survived by his wife, Petrona; his mother, Marcelina; several brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews; and Petrona's family.

He was predeceased by his father, Pedro.

His visitation will be held on Saturday February 8th from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  Funeral services and burial will take place in Zacualpa.
