Ronald E. DesRosiers, 80, of Mattapoisett passed away Tuesday July 9, 2024 at home after a long illness.  He was the husband of Ann Marie (Ponte) DesRosiers.

Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Edmond H. and Irene (Blanchette) DesRosiers, he was raised in New Bedford and lived in Mattapoisett for the past 52 years.  He was a graduate of New Bedford High School.

Ronald was formerly employed as a park keeper for the City of New Bedford Park Department until his retirement.

He served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and was called to active duty in 1968 and served in Vietnam.  He enjoyed spending peaceful time in his home and its surroundings and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife Ann Marie; his daughter, Melissa Medeiros and her husband Douglas; and three grandchildren, Jordin Gonsalves, Olivia Gonsalves, and Dakota Medeiros.

He was predeceased by his sister, Janice Kearley.
