Ronald R. Pichaske, 60, of Assonet died Tuesday July 21, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Brenda C. (Doyle) Pichaske.

Born in Syracuse, NY, the son of Anita (Bell) Pichaske of Syracuse and the late Howard Pichaske, he lived in New Bedford and Assonet for many years.

Mr. Pichaske was formerly employed as a coating technician at Polaroid Corporation in New Bedford for 30 years until his retirement.

He was a graduate of Bristol Community College.

Mr Pichaske served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed working around the house, going by the beach to watch the boats, driving his Miata, and going to Foxwoods.

Survivors include his wife; his mother; two children, Lisa C. Pichaske of New Bedford and Michael R. Pichaske of Assonet; his mother-in-law, Arlene Doyle of New Bedford; his brother-in-law, David Doyle and his wife Dawn of Fairhaven; two nieces, Jillian Doyle and Jenalyn Gobern and her husband Manuel; a grandnephew, David Gobern; and his beloved dogs, Buddy and Marley.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairhaven. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7295.
