Ronald P. Rochon, 62, of New Bedford died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Sharon A. (Rutkowski) Rochon.

Born in Providence, RI, the son of the late Adelard and Irene (Landry) Rochon, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Mr. Rochon was employed as a finish carpenter, working for various companies, including R.P. Valois.

A talented craftsman, he especially enjoyed woodworking and knife making. He was a Boy Scout in his youth and loved camping, cooking, and listening to jazz and blues music.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeremiah D. Rochon of Fairhaven; a sister, Eileen Meunier of Pawtucket, RI; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
