Obituary

Rory J. Pendergast, 19, of Lakeville, formerly of Fairhaven, died Saturday June 4, 2005 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Route 140 in Freetown. He was the son of Rochelle (Pendergast) Manley of Lakeville and Thomas Olival of Fairhaven.

Born in New Bedford, he lived in Fairhaven for most of his life before moving to Lakeville last year.

Rory was employed as an apprentice electrician for Reilly Electrical Contractors in Easton.

He was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational-Technical High School. He loved playing poker and hanging out with his many cousins and friends. An avid sports fan, he especially loved the Boston Celtics.

Survivors include his father; his mother and her husband Michael Manley; his brother, Noah Olival of Lakeville; his maternal grandparents, John and Carole Pendergast of Fairhaven; his maternal great-grandfather, Louis Doucette of Fairhaven; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was the grandson of the late John and Therese Olival.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 8, 2005 at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett Tuesday June 7, 2005 from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Mass. and R.I., 95 Berkeley St., Suite 409, Boston, MA 02116.
