Rosalie M. (Houtman) Allen, 81, of New Bedford died Monday June 20, 2016. She was the wife of the late Floyd Allen, and the mother of five children, Monica Allen of Indianapolis, IN, Lori Allen of Brockton, Jannine Hunter and husband Curtis, Tara Allen, and Floyd Allen, all of New Bedford.
She was born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Williston and Frances (Hazell) Houtman. She was formerly employed by the Acushnet Company Rubber Division.
Besides her children, Rosalie is survived by four brothers, Wallace Houtman and wife Shirley, Kenneth Houtman and wife Linda, and Dennis Houtman, all of New Bedford, and Richard Frates and wife Robin of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Lucy Woods of Indianapolis and Billie-Marie Gomes and husband Paul of New Bedford; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Russell Houtman, Lola Pennebaker, and Claire Arruda.
